“Do not yield to hatred. Be patient. We are here in a dark
tunnel but we have to go on. At the end, the eternal light

Prayer in the midst of suffering
God our Father, source of life and freedom, through your
Holy Spirit you gave the Carmelite Titus Brandsma the
courage to affirm human dignity even in the midst of suffering and degrading persecution. Grant us that same Spirit, so that, refusing all compromise with error, we may always and everywhere give coherent witness to your abiding presence among us. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

To live in the midst of the world,
without wishing its pleasures;
To be a member of each family,
yet belonging to none;
To share all suffering;
To penetrate all secrets;
To heal all wounds; To go from men to God, and offer Him their prayers; To return from God to men; To bring pardon and hope; To have a heart of fire for Charity, and a heart of bronze for Chastity; To teach and to pardon, console and bless always. My God, what a life; and it is yours, O priest of Jesus Christ.

Apparition message - September 1846
“Priests, my Son's ministers, priests, by their evil life,
by their irreverences and their impiety in celebrating
the holy mysteries, love of money, love of honor and
pleasures, priests have become sewers of impurity.
Yes, priests call forth vengeance, and vengeance is
suspended over their heads. Woe to priests, and
to persons consecrated to God, who by their infidelities and their evil life are crucifying my son anew! The sins of persons consecrated to God cry to heaven and call for vengeance, and now here is vengeance at their very doors, for no longer is anyone found to beg mercy and pardon for the people; there are no more generous souls, there is now no one worthy of offering the spotless Victim to the Eternal on the world's behalf.” Our Lady of La Salette
