The Antilles Episcopal Conference (the 'AEC' of the Caribbean) seems to be promoting an agenda which admits to seeking to break from the mainstream Roman Rite and form a New, "Caribbean Rite", if one might call it thus. Being so geographically close to the USA and the influence of the USA Conference of Bishops, most of the Church Documents quoted are from the USA. The difficulty is that most of these are dated!

Now, the AEC is at that point of Liturgical madness, where the Church in the USA was in the 1980s-90s. Therefore, the buzz phrases like "Spirit of Vatican II", "the people's active participation", and Latin and modal Chant being 'swear-words' are de riguer. Regionallism has run-amok and on account of the grave insularity fostered, a bubble-effect has ocurred, reinforcing the problems.

Therefore, what is spewed forth from North America has not only poisoned other Episcopal Sees, but on account of local difficulties, has had a spiral effect. The trouble with all of this is that the GOOD that is now happening in the USA and Canada and accross the pond in the UK, is now being actively BLOCKED by the AEC. It is now a situation of extreemism all reinforced by Clerics of the 1970s-1980s reactionary movement. Meanwhile, Rome endeavours Her best to halt and remedy the situation by means of new appointments to the Episcopacy - but the 'wild horses' have already left the stable.

(One wonders whether or not it would be more Christian to take these clerics out of Pastoral duty and put them into administrative posts..... rather than just waiting for them to get old or die.)

In fine, the damage now wittnessed by myself in these little Episcopal Conferences, e.g. the AEC, caused by the USA, is phemonenal. Therefore, it is NOT enough for the Conference of Bishops in the USA to amend their ways; they MUST seek to address the vast 'fall-out' of their influence néfaste! This must be done on an hemispheric level rather than just fixing the problems in the USA and leaving the 'fall-out' to fester. After all if one causes a problem, one ought to spearhead its solution unto a remedy.

I wonder what the British government has to say about the Miraculous Medal or the Brown Scapular...

Separation of State and Church....hummm. what can one expect from a government that has been exempt from God? Government will eventually become the ruler over religion, since God is not their ruler.
