MALTA-Mosta: Wied Il-Ghasel (Honey Valley)
Brief info on Honey Valley:
Wied il-Ghasel was possibly the most picturesque and rich of the valleys. It is characterized by steep rocky sides, which support garigue and maquis communities. The cliff-like sides of the deeper parts support a rich flora. These include some remarkable species.
The Chapel of St. Paul The Hermit:
This is quite a big cave with water dripping forming stalactites and stalagmites. St. Paul the Hermit is of interest in several respects. The legend goes that a hermit living in the cave was made to help a woman with her washing. The people of Mosta suspected something wrong and stoned him all the way to Bahar ic¬-Caghaq. Where the hermit spread his cloak over the waves and sail off. The people of Mosta repented but the hermit did not return.
On the 27th January 1655 Bishop Balaguer gave permission for the building of this chapel. Grand Master Pinto used to come to pay homage to Our Lady of Grace and have a dip in the spring water (pure) at the cave

It describes the experience of a young girl who went for a walk with her Mother in this beautiful Valley which is situated in the town of Mosta, Malta.
This song was composed by Alfred Grech, recorded in 2005 and re recorded in 2009 and it's sung by young Albertine Abela who also sung another of Alfred's songs. Orchestration and recording done by Augusto Cardinali.
