Burke on Gender Ideology: Attack on Reason and Nature

Materialism and atheism are pervasive in today's thinking, creating a poisonous atmosphere, Cardinal Raymond Burke told ThomasAquinas.edu (August 20):

"Today the attack is on reason itself and on nature itself. To say, for example, that I can change my nature: I was born a man, and that I can make myself a woman by the use of various chemicals and mutilation - that is an attack on reason, on nature."

Burke added that the Church "must continue to teach the doctrines of the Faith in all their clarity".

However, he knows that there is "a disintegration of Catholic thought, of Catholic culture": "That simply has to be restored, and that will come by way of reason and faith."

in the Spring /Summer of 1994, when Wojtyla continued his rampage throughout the Church implementing Vatican II, he issued his heretical decree permitting "altar girls" - the beginning of the very gender ideology Burke now condemns. Burke could have prevented the introduction of "altar girls" in his diocese. Did he? No. With his intention to accept religious vows from a man within his diocese living as a religious "woman" and his going along with the "altar girl" travesty - his statements now on gender ideology are hollow. He went along with the Vatican II revolution to get along, and his reward was his Red Hat. Your Eminence: If you've authentically altered the views that your past actions bespeak, then acknowledge the errors and apologize. Then, and only then, will your present positions ring true.

Obeying a true pope is different than resisting a true pope... Bergoglio isnt true. JPII may have done that (altar girls), but such didn’t put souls into hell.

@yuca2111 It wasn't a matter of "obeying true Pope." Wojtyla left the implementation of altar girls up to each Ordinary in their respective dioceses. +Burke embraced it immediately (unlike the Diocese of Lincoln and Arlington). That indicates he either agreed with this revolutionary policy or didn't have the courage to resist it. In regard to his intention to accept the vows of a man posing as a woman in a community of women religious - he wasn't obeying any Pope: that was purely his twisted attitude toward an obvious perversion. SO: where does the issue of "obeying a 'true ' Pope" come into the picture vis-a-vis your defense of this +Burke?

yuca2111

Good... lets say you are right... how many souls got into hell by that action?

Simon North

Millions of souls have left the Catholic Church due to such scandalously faithless and desacralizing decisions (as mentioned) over the course of the past 60 years. He now denounces the very policies with which he's been complicit - without explanation or apology. If he were elected Pope tomorrow, we'd get a restoration - tragically, the restoration of the papacies of Wojtyla and Ratzinger.

yuca2111

So you actually know the number of souls went to hell for implementing altar girls.

Simon North

You read nothing like that in my comments. If you're going to engage - be a man and engage honestly.

Unfortunately his excellency is wrong on restoration, yes we need faith to endure the horror preached from inside the Church... BUT, we passed the point of no return a while ago, this problem needs to be cured by God Himself, He needs to come down and fulfill His promise, it's just, we still need the antichrist to appear for Him to do so, so there's still some time in our hands to remain faithful and reject/resist apostasy.

Hirelings Bishops unfaithful to Christ and faithful to the Oath of Omertà to Bergoglio
Anyone who calls a transvestite homosexual man a "woman" is part of the deception, just as anyone who calls the apostate Bergoglio, who openly defies Divine Natural Law and Catholic morality and believes himself above God and the Church, "pope" is part of the deception. How is it possible that Burke can see with one eye and close the other so as not to denounce Bergoglio's rebellion against God? Scripture also warns that COWARDS will not enter the Kingdom of God.

I apologize beforehand for what I am about to say: Card. Burke is addressing the St. Thomas Aquinas crowd and what does he do? He talks about "reason and faith" and goes around in circle with the same words. To me it sounds like "Kamala's word salad"...! Why does he not talk about how little he and his colleagues have done in the last 12 years about the 'usurpers of the Chair of Peter'?!

Answer: Because his role as good cop is to keep would-be trads mired in conciliar modernism by presenting himself as a (superficial) “approved” trad alternative.
The conciliar hierarchy understands the importance of authority and legality to these types (hence, even Francis wears his cassock), and use it to reeducate the dupes via the hermeneutic of continuity to accept the revolution (ie., to convince themselves there was no revolution).
Just look how well it has worked against the SSPX.

Burke is part of the problem.

Exactly. People should know the real story behind him.

Sean Johnson

Also, regarding his statement that “the Church must continue to teach the doctrines of faith in all their clarity:” Would it not be “clearer” to say either that the Church should “resume teaching the faith obscured by Vatican II, or, acknowledge that the conciliar church (of which he is a member) does not teach Catholic doctrine?

Sean Johnson

I cannot reconcile this statement with his own acceptance of a transsexual man into a nun’s convent/religious order. Anyone?

Oh yes, I remember that now. I had forgotten.
