Leo XIV has written from hospital to the Amoris Laetitia conference.
He will read the final document soon and urges the bishops to share “what you have lived and received, and to continue proclaiming the Gospel with families, drawing on the richness of Amoris Laetitia.”
Due to his surgery, the conference's final document will not be published until Leo XIV has worked on it. He will offer his reflections "in due course".
Meanwhile, Leo XIV is recovering as expected. He underwent the blood tests and X-ray scheduled following the surgery and the results confirm a normal normal postoperative course. He underwent respiratory physical therapy and has begun walking around his room. He has resumed a regular diet.

Nearly half of France’s enormous Muslim population would consider leaving the country if Marine Le Pen wins the presidency next year, according to a new poll.
The IFOP survey, published by French weekly Marianne, found that 46 percent of Muslim respondents would contemplate emigrating following a Le Pen victory.
Approximately seven million Muslims are estimated to live in France, many of whom have come from former French colonies such as Algeria, Morocco and Cameroon.
The country is currently gripped by mass protests that are supposedly about the declining state of French education, although they are more about promoting Islamism and undermining traditional French culture.

The Spanish surgeon behind the technique used in the Pope's lung operation says Leo XIV may not need further cancer treatment.
Spanish thoracic surgeon Diego González Rivas, whose team developed the minimally invasive technique used to operate on Leo XIV, says the Pontiff is recovering well.
González Rivas developed the single-incision uniportal VATS technique in 2010 and trained surgeons at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital. The Pope's operation was performed Tuesday by a team led by Professor Stefano Margaritora, head of thoracic surgery at Gemelli. Surgeons removed the lower lobe of his right lung after detecting an early-stage adenocarcinoma.
González Rivas contacted the medical team Wednesday morning and learned that the Pope was already in a regular hospital ward and pain-free.
Speaking to Spanish radio station COPE, he described the prognosis as very good, saying early surgery offers a high chance of cure. Chemotherapy or radiotherapy will probably not be needed, depending on pathology …
