Today, the feast of Saint Anne is celebrated at the hallowed National Shrine in Talavila under the patronage of the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Devsritha Valence Mendis. The energetic administrator of the shrine, Very Rev. Fr. Luke Nelson Perera has made arrangements to conduct the feast befittingly with special attention to the spiritual needs of the pilgrims that throng to Talavila from all over the country. I am sure the meaningful projects that have been launched towards the development of the shrine and its environs will surely gladden the pilgrims.
