Hi, I am glad you have not deleted it! I too, am a religious hermit, and I find it spiritually wonderful to see others living the life I do. I live my eremitical life alone, and in a city of all places. I would very much like to live secluded but am where God has placed me and where the Archdiocese wants me. There are no other hermits in my city. No hermit I can ask questions of etc. I am a new hermit, so perhaps you may understand why, but am at least blessed in having a wonderful spiritual director who is also thinking one day of becoming a hermit too. I am not even dressed in religious clothing, as again I am not permitted, so I walk amongst people and no one knows that I am a hermit. Though I wish I were dressed as a religious, not being so has the advantage of being able to see and hear things one would not if one were dressed as a hermit and pray for many souls as I drive to Mass each day. I like the way you broke things down in how you reached such an important conclusion regarding our belief in the blessed Virgin Mary and our Church! ! It is at times, hard to explain our love and reasoning behind our devotion for our Blessed Virgin Mary to our Protestant brothers and sisters. Because scripture is so important as far as backing it up what would you suggest to quote in the bible to those who still do not believe? What passage would have convinced you just the same?

In many ways our Lady of Fatima brought me back to the Church. When I was chased from the Church by confused or malicious Modoernists I became the best Protestant I could. Fatima became a large sticking point for my return. Here goes the reasoning that brought me back. Took several years to work through it. (If I had seen this excellent video back then it would have been much quicker)
1. The Miracle of the Sun was a widely documented "phenomenon"
2. It could have been of the diabolica deception as some hard core Protestants maintain. BTW, John Henry Newman had this same concern when he was being drawn to the Church

Christ loves the sinner but hates the sin; therefore, we must try with love to pray for the homosexuals, child abusers, dope addicts, murderers, heretics etc. God judges, we must be an example but also admonish the sinner and reprove him says the Lord. (Lk 17:3)

1 Corinthians 6:2-3 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know tht we are to judge angels? How much more, matters pertaining to this life!
Matthew 7:1 tells people not to judge when we shouldn't, for the rod with which we measure we will be measured. It doesn't mean never judge. In truth people judge each other all the time on things they shouldn't: how a person seems rather than how a person is... or sometimes even when a person doesn't seem to be doing wrong at all, but one judges them simply out of anger or pride without any basis in Truth.... that kind of judgment is what Jesus is condemning, and those who judge by it will be judged themselves.

Very sobering! There should be more sermons today on the topic of hell, it might give people pause to reflect on how they are living their lives.
The last remark about hell being a mercy of God for those who hate Him is very interesting - and I love the example he uses to illustrate this point.
I used to imagine that perhaps Heaven was filled with a brilliant and intense light that was excruciatingly painful for those souls who died in the darkness of sin (like the hypersensitivity to light that one experiences when suffering a migraine headache - or from walking outside into the noonday sun after spending all day in a pitch black room), so that hell was to some extent a relief from an unbearable torment to a bearable one.
I am only speculating of course.

I have to disagree. Our eternal soul will spend eternity in either heaven or hell. I can not trust any human being with my eternal soul and I do not think God would have me do that, as a matter of fact, many places in the Holy Bible it speaks against putting your trust in man.
Yes, there are many liberal Protestant churches that do not follow the clear teachings of the Holy Bible, but on the other hand, there are many liberal Catholics who do not follow the teachings of the Catholic Church.
How many Catholics do not believe in contraception? Maybe it is the official teaching of the Catholic church, but if the people don't follow it, so what. Many Protestants do not believe in birth control either, maybe not many, but some. Probably the same amount as Catholics who do not use some form of birth control.
