Medjugorje is not a fake in the sense that nothing is happening; it is a real demonic apparition. Compare the sadness and urgency of Mary at Fatima and see how much worse the world and Catholics
are now than in 1917 and you will see that the apparition says nothing much about the reality of moral evils and lack of Faith in the constant teachings of the Catholic Church. Cures are possible by demonic power. Cardinal Ratzinger (Pope Benedict xvi) declared the apparitions to contain "nothing Supernatural" ( that is , from God) in the 1990's when he was head of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith during the pontificate of Pope Saint John Paul II (d. 2005) who never overturned Cardinal Ratzingers findings, even though they met weekly . As Pope, Benedict never reversed his findings .

Benedict XVI stated soon after his abdication that he was retaining the mumus of the papal office. It was noted by a Traditional lawyer in the USA that if he did not resign the mumus, then he did not resign and was still pope. The question of force or threat, or pressure to resign still has not been answered.
As for Pope Francis, he may be sly enough not to be easily labeled as a "formal heretic" but he appoints and otherwise fosters bishops and cardinals who are heretical, so he may be leaving the 'official'changes in Church Teaching to a successor although he has already allowed the
heretical practices and even condoned them 'informally'.
