The Pax Romana—the 200-year “golden age” of the Roman Empire—was a marvel of diversity, connectivity, and unchallenged hegemony. By the middle of the second century AD, imperial Rome ruled territory across three different continents. Roughly one-quarter of the Earth’s population, some 60 million people, lived under Rome’s vast aegis, and the emperors of the age—most notably Marcus Aurelius—enjoyed the consent of those they governed. The Empire’s elites—witnessing the disciplined legions, widespread religiosity, cultural efflorescence, and dominant economy—likely expected their world order to endure forever.
In the year 166 AD, however, seemingly eternal Rome was caught completely off-guard as a …More

While I am doing mosaics for Glory of God, I seem to be visited by every Tom Dick and Harry
ever imaginable from both sides of the fence.
So here is my food for thought.
The extreme radical Novus Ordo disdain the Traditional Roman Church, just as much as the other way around. …….. and that’s ok, it was certainly like that during the time of Christ.
The Novus Ordo call the Traditionalist a bunch of hypocrites.
Well, I began to think about this, since I have plenty of time to think while placing each piece one at a time.
As a calm balanced discussion,
Why is it that the righteous group ……. rather all of the righteous groups including children do not fast every Wednesday and Friday? Why do not all these groups including children fast everyday for forty days during Lent and forty before Christmas? The Oriental Orthodox do. They ensure the entire family is near to Christ. Why also is it permitted to eat pork and shell fish, as it is law in the Old Testament? These are strict prohibitions in …More

@sp2 . . you make an awful lot of sweeping statements above. I'm not even fully sure what you want you are looking to debate in a calm balanced discussion With whom do you want to debate is it the righteous group? Who are they? I'm not familiar with anyone here who calls themselves the righteous group. Is it a slur on traditionalist Catholics that you call out as hypocrites? I'm a practising Catholic because I'm not very good at it, but because I'm a sinner it doesn't mean I get to call evil good

Because Catholics are not judaizing heretics.
Cf. e.g. Pope Eugene IV & Council of Florence - Decree for the Jacobites:
"The holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes, and preaches that every creature of God is good and not to be rejected if it is taken with thanks. According to the Lord’s word, a man is not defiled by what enters his mouth. The Church affirms that the distinction made by the Mosaic Law between clean and unclean foods belongs to the ceremonial laws which have passed away with the coming of the Gospel... So it declares that no kind of food is to be condemned which human society regards as food, and no distinction is to be made between animals on the basis of gender or the manner of their death. However many things which are not forbidden may and should be given up for the health of the body, the practice of virtue, and regular Church discipline. As the Apostle says: ‘All things …More

I cancelled my National Trust subscription years ago over the Felbrigg Hall LGBT scandal. 'Hundreds' of National Trust members quit in protest over gay pride campaign They are nothing more now than agents of social change and political correctness. There is a toothless pressure group called 'Restore Trust' who are trying to restore the National Trust to its real mission. But they are going about it the wrong way. They expect you to remain National Trust members and work for change from the inside. Well, it hasn't worked so far. I would ignore them and if you do subscribe to National Trust, cancel your membership immediately. Lack of money and lack of customers are the only things that will bring them to heel.

It’s been 11 years, nothing has change inside the hearts of many who chose the golden calf instead of God, way back then, Moses went into the mountain, and more than half of the people got ruined, they colluded to go back to the Egyptians and erected false prophets and false gods… those who try to stop it got maligned.
Moses came down and tried to put some sense into them, some did, but the majority did not, history repeats itself because nobody wants to listen, it repeats and repeats because we love to sin more than the love for our Lord, that happens and it is sad, Peter sinned many times, chose a golden calf many times, but the Love of our Lord made him come to his senses and then he chose God.
Choosing God in these days is nothing short of a milestone, miracle or act of bravery, as people, even good people, their preferred game is to persecuted others, even inside their own family… that is the catholic Church, good people persecute those who are irregular, rigid or incapable of …More

St. Venantius was a young Christian martyr who lived during the 3rd century in Camerino, a town in present-day Italy. Born into a noble family, Venantius converted to Christianity at a young age. His faith led him to preach the Gospel openly, despite the severe persecution of Christians at the time.
During the reign of Emperor Decius (249-251 AD), anti-Christian sentiment was rampant, and Venantius was arrested for his beliefs. He was subjected to numerous tortures, which included being scourged, burned, and hung upside down over a fire. Despite the brutal attempts to make him renounce his faith, Venantius remained steadfast. According to tradition, he was miraculously preserved through these tortures, which only strengthened the faith of his followers and fellow Christians.
Venantius was eventually sentenced to beheading, a sentence he met with great courage. His martyrdom is said to have taken place around the age of fifteen. After his death, he was venerated as a saint, and numerous …More
