Luis Cobos: Three Beautiful Selections.
BEAUTIFUL SIGHTS AND SOUND - Three selections played by the Spanish Maestro Luis Cobos. Cobos' work is arrangements on existing compositions mostly classical music, traditional Spanish music, and some of his records are of the traditional music of Latin American, Central America, and Mexico.
We'll hear these selections:
Poet and Peasant Overture by Austrian composer Franz von Suppé. He was born in what is now Croatia during the time his father was working in this outpost of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Clarinet Concerto No. 2 in A major Adagio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This Clarinet Concerto us possibly the best known part of this concerto, was composed by Mozart in 1791.
Vilja Lied (Vilja Song) - a beautiful aria from the Opera, The Merry Widow by the Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehár and it's concerning a rich widow, Hanna Glawari, and her attempt to find a husband.
