Psalm 113 (114+115)
1 In exitu Israel de Aegypto domus Iacob de populo barbaro
1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a barbarous people:
2 Facta est Iudaea sanctificatio eius Israel potestas eius
2 Judea made his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
3 Mare vidit et fugit Iordanis conversus est retrorsum
3 The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back.
4 Montes exultaverunt ut arietes colles sicut agni ovium
4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like the lambs of the flock.
5 Quid est tibi mare quod fugisti et tu Iordanis quia conversus es retrorsum
5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou didst flee: and thou, O Jordan, that thou wast turned back?
6 Montes exultastis sicut arietes et colles sicut agni ovium
6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and ye hills, like lambs of the flock?
7 A facie Domini mota est terra a facie Dei Iacob
7 At the presence of the Lord the earth was moved, at the presence of the God of Jacob:
8 Qui convertit petram in stagna aquarum et rupem in fontes aquarum
8 Who turned the rock into pools of water, and the stony hill into fountains of waters.
9 Non nobis Domine non nobis sed nomini tuo da gloriam
9 Not to us, O Lord, not to us; but to thy name give glory.
10 Super misericordia tua et veritate tua nequando dicant gentes ubi est Deus eorum
10 For thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake: lest the gentiles should say: Where is their God?
11 Deus autem noster in caelo omnia quaecumque voluit fecit
11 But our God is in heaven: he hath done all things whatsoever he would.
12 Simulacra gentium argentum et aurum opera manuum hominum
12 The idols of the gentiles are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men.
13 Os habent et non loquentur oculos habent et non videbunt
13 They have mouths and speak not: they have eyes and see not.
14 Aures habent et non audient nares habent et non odorabunt
14 They have ears and hear not: they have noses and smell not.
15 Manus habent et non palpabunt pedes habent et non ambulabunt non clamabunt in gutture suo
15 They have hands and feel not: they have feet and walk not: neither shall they cry out through their throat.
16 Similes illis fiant qui faciunt ea et omnes qui confidunt in eis
16 Let them that make them become like unto them: and all such as trust in them.
17 Domus Israel speravit in Domino adiutor eorum et protector eorum est
17 The house of Israel hath hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.
18 Domus Aaron speravit in Domino adiutor eorum et protector eorum est
18 The house of Aaron hath hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.
19 Qui timent Dominum speraverunt in Domino adiutor eorum et protector eorum est
19 They that fear the Lord hath hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.
20 Dominus memor fuit nostri et benedixit nobis benedixit domui Israel benedixit domui Aaron
20 The Lord hath been mindful of us, and hath blessed us. He hath blessed the house of Israel: he hath blessed the house of Aaron.
21 Benedixit omnibus qui timent Dominum pusillis cum maioribus
21 He hath blessed all that fear the Lord, both little and great.
22 Adiciat Dominus super vos super vos et super filios vestros
22 May the Lord add blessings upon you: upon you, and upon your children.
23 Benedicti vos Domino qui fecit caelum et terram
23 Blessed be you of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
24 Caelum caeli Domino terram autem dedit filiis hominum
24 The heaven of heaven is the Lord's: but the earth he has given to the children of men.
25 Non mortui laudabunt te Domine neque omnes qui descendunt in infernum
25 The dead shall not praise thee, O Lord: nor any of them that go down to hell.
26 Sed nos qui vivimus benedicimus Domino ex hoc nunc et usque in saeculum
26 But we that live bless the Lord: from this time now and for ever.

The news segment is becoming increasingly shrill and divisive. Why not call it Gloria.tv Commentary which is what it is becoming. I do not disagree with all the commentary made but I found yesterdays disrepectful comments about Pope Francis bowing to man way over the top. And the snarky money report is misleading. In my parish the Gospel Music Mass turns in almost $15,000 a week almost twice as much as a traditional parish nearby where I celebrate the Latin Mass. I am not sure what that says, but to use your logic, every parish should go Black gospel? Come lets get more serious. This news segment is not what it should be.

An excellent post. As Vorris points out, the wheels really came off when we decoupled sexual union from Child-bearing through contraception, as Vorris puts it, when we said "Sex and procreation have no necessary connection." Once that was done and became the thinking, it isn't far to saying anyone can have sex with anyone. And that contraceptive mentality is at the heart of all this mess. In this sense, it can be rightly argued, as St. Paul does in Romans 1, that it is not merely that God will punish us for Homosexuality in our culture, but rather that rampant homosexuality IS God's punishment on a culture that has suppressed the truth. We have sown in the wind, and now we reap the whirlwind.
