Former PiusX Superior General: Fernández has come a long way

For Father Franz Schmidberger, a former Superior General of the Society of Saint Pius X, Francis' pamphlet 'Sodoma supplicans' is "diabolical" because it calls for the blessing of sin.

In a dispatch of 15 January, he expresses his surprise that Tucho Fernández, in response to the various protests, has added a further statement to his original one, justifying himself with the remark, "We are not heretics."

Schmidberger comments: "We have come a long way if the Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith feels compelled to make such a statement".
