Hugging Pope: On Saturday, Pope Francis concelebrated Mass with a group of young Jesuit priests who, against Canon Law, were dressed as laymen or worse. After Mass one of them, Fr Nicolò Mazza, asked the Pope for permission to hug him. Francis hugged him very strongly and said: “This is indeed a hug among true men.” Then he recalled how as a Jesuit he was taught to hug his confrère with a certain distance. Directed to Fr Mazza he added: “This was not o.k. I liked your hug more.”
Countercultural Diocese: Last Saturday, Nashville bishop David Choby ordained nine men to priests, setting a statewide record. Nashville is ranked eighth in the nation for its rate of converts. Dear Father, In Michael Voris's Vortex, "The Gay Priest Party", I was wondering what you would have done if you had experienced the same thing as that priest who was invited to the party, then be introduced to all the homosexual priests and their partners? And too, remembering they haven't "broken communion with the Roman Pontiff".

Leslie Lothstein has seen them all: priests sexually active with adult men, others with adult women, others with adolescents, others with children. By his own count, Dr. Lothstein, a psychologist at the Institute of Living, in Hartford, has treated about 300 Roman Catholic priests, not only those with sexual problems, but also those with alcoholism, depression and other mental illnesses.
Lothstein unwittingly found himself in the news almost 10 years ago, when it was reported that the Catholic Church had sent priests to the Institute of Living for treatment without always telling the doctors the full details of the priests’ transgressions. (One of those priests was the superpredator John Geoghan, whom Dr. Lothstein treated.) What’s more, the Catholic hierarchy often ignored the institute’s recommendations about the priests’ fitness for service.

Voris, we've heard all this before (thanks to you!)... but we need to hear what is going to be done about it! Sure the priest who went to the chancery will be persecuted...so what happens..everything still remains hidden. How is that helping the priesthood? The Faithful? The Whole Church by keeping it under wraps? If your going to be persecuted then be persecuted for the Truth and be done with it!! Just glad I have the Latin Mass to go to!
Ecumenism Gone Wild

“It was completely unexpected,” the Rev. Robertson said Tuesday, in her first media interview about the encounter. “I’m still blown away by it.”
“What moved me was not so much that I was anointing him,” she said. “It was him being willing to accept that from my hand – to ask me, as a woman in ministry, to do that.”
A Rhode Island native, the Rev. Robertson was the only female clergy member who assisted at a special 50th anniversary worship service at Sudbury United Methodist Church. Cardinal O’Malley delivered the homily at the ecumenical gathering.
“My heart immediately went to my throat,” she said. “To be asked that by the man who might be pope someday – I was stunned. I was choking back tears for hours.”

I once attended a novus ordo mass and when ashes were administered.. The Franciscan priest has a lay distributor of communion administer the ashes upon his forehead...I could have puked right there!
Statistics Concerning Male Altar Servers
There's been a lot of discussion on whether it is better to have male altar servers or to allow both girls and boys to serve at the altar.
Stats seen to the left: I asked for parishes that made the switch to all male altar servers what their server numbers were like before the switch and what the number of servers was about a year after the switch.
That's hard to argue with. The average parish surveyed, when switching from co-ed servers to male-only saw their server numbers grow 450%

As this has spread a bit across the internet, the statisticians have come out of the woodwork. I was a math major, and so let me say, first of all, that I understand that correlation does not imply causality. I had it beat into my brain in high school and college. Correlation does not imply causality, but it certainly can SUGGEST causality, and 450% change is certainly GIGANTIC change.

Francis donates 3, 6 million Euros to cover WYD debts

Today, the Brazilian press informed that the Rio 2013 World Youth Day organizing committee has received a sum of 3, 6 million Euros from Pope Francis to help cover the debt accumulated from last July’s youth event.
An audit carried out by professional services firm Ernst&Young revealed that WYD 2013 in Rio ended with a debt of 28, 3 million Euros (the equivalent of 91, 3 million Brazilian Reals).
Part of the cost was covered through the sale of an important building owned by the Archdiocese (which was rented by a clinic) and through donations amounting to a total of 4 million Euros, passes, commercial licences and other minor forms of revenue. 6, 26 million of the 28, 3 million Euro debt was accumulated by paying suppliers and 22, 92 million as a result of other general expenses.
Wow...all that $$$$ so we could watch bishops do their 'dance fever' choreographed by an openly homosexual...attend mass with the 'boat altar' and receive communion from paper cups. Money used wisely.. Ugh!

Contrary to much popular belief, the catchphrase "hate the sin but love the sinner" is not of biblical origin, and caution should be given to its connotations. The tendency it too often leads to today is to view the sinner as a victim of his sin, rather than the author of the sin he commits.
In truth, there are biblical teachings that contravene the above cliché, for example the following (from the Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible):
-- "But to God the wicked and his wickedness are hateful alike" (Wisd. 14:9).
-- "Neither shall the wicked dwell near thee: nor shall the unjust abide before thy eyes. Thou hatest all the workers of iniquity: thou wilt destroy all that speak a lie" (Ps. 5:6-7).
-- "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth that which is evil"…
Enough with the 'hand holding'.. 'do not judge', 'we must be sensitive.' It just comes down to plain common sense and in imitation of the saints and apostles who feared nothing at correcting and condemning the sins of others. Had we not been 'so sensitive' in correcting our erring brothers for the past Fifty years, maybe the church and the world wouldn't be where it is now. God help us!

So much for the left's "consenting adults" rhetoric on sex. Forever the consummate conservationists, our self-described "progressive" friends at the ACLU, MSNBC and elsewhere have been ramping-up efforts to downsize from "consenting adults" to merely "consenting" – a far less cumbersome qualifier in the noble struggle for unrestrained sexual license.

Bishop exposes churchgoers to hepatitis A virus
The bishop of the Fargo Catholic Diocese might have exposed hundreds of church members in Fargo and Jamestown to the hepatitis A virus in late September and early October.
The state Health Department has issued an advisory of exposure for anyone who was served communion at services attended by Bishop John Folda at four churches during that time. State Immunization Program Manager Molly Howell says the risk of transmission is low.
