Irish bishop backs cancellation of country singer’s concert in Catholic church.
Irish Bishop Kevin Doran of Achonry and Elphin has backed the cancellation of a Christmas concert by country singer Nathan Carter inside St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boyle. He explained that churches are sacred spaces, not concert venues or “disco settings”: “The important thing is to preserve the nature of the church and the sanctuary as a sacred space,” he said.
The December 13 concert had been approved by a previous parish priest. Tickets were already on sale. Then, the new parish priest cancelled the event after taking charge of the parish this autumn.
The Diocese has rules governing concerts in churches. Music need not be strictly liturgical, but it should be spiritual in character and compatible with the sacred nature of the building.
Carter whined he was “extremely disappointed” by the cancellation.

The Church needs more bishops like this to keep churches sacred and not music, dining, or entertainment halls.
Cupich: Advocacy for immigrants ‘is, in its truest sense, an act of divine worship’ - LifeSite
Cardinal Blase Cupich called immigrant advocacy an 'act of divine worship' while urging immigration reform and condemning enforcement without distinguishing legal from illegal immigration.
Mon Oct 5, 2026 - 1:19 pm EDT
(LifeSiteNews) — Heterodox Cardinal Blase Cupich told Catholics gathered for a “City of Welcome” event that advocacy for immigrants “belongs to every single disciple of Jesus, and it is, in its truest sense, an act of divine worship,” again collapsing legal and illegal immigration into a single moral claim.
The October 3 homily at the Archdiocese of Chicago celebration titled “Celebrating a City of Welcome, where Catholic Solidarity and the Journey of Migration Meet,” praised Chicago as a city “woven from the courageous journeys” of earlier immigrants, African American migrants, and more recent Latino and Asian communities.
Cupich then said the “spirit of welcome” has been “…lifesitenews.com
A nation has a responsibility, a duty and a right to decide who may enter its borders. Divine worship pertains to the Blessed Trinity, and nothing else!

Is Pope St. Pius X’s Condemnation of Modernism Still Valid Today?
Is religion nothing more than one’s personal or collective experience? Father Kenneth Dos Santos, MIC, explains in his latest column for CatholicStand.com.

Is religion nothing more than one’s personal or collective experience? Is there an objective truth revealed by God to the human race, or, any reasonable basis for establishing believability in the Christian Faith?
The Catholic Dictionary characterizes Modernism, or the Modernist, as one who minimalizes the very idea of God, the One True Eternal God who exists outside of all time, space, and matter:
There is no objective revelation from God to the human race, on which Christianity is finally based, nor any reasonable grounds for credibility in the Christian faith, based on miracles or the testimony of history. Faith, therefore, is uniquely from within. In fact, it is part of human nature, “a kind of …thedivinemercy.org
Modernism is alive, well and thriving. More should have been done to stop it. All we can do is pray and make sacrifices so it will be annihilated.

If one is a Franciscan or a Capuchin, that is maybe tolerated. But this just shows how slovenly some clerics treat liturgical matters.
Raleigh bishop allows pagan prayer ritual in Catholic church - LifeSite
A pagan 'smudging' ceremony and 'prayer in the four directions' took place in a Catholic Church under the watch of the bishop of Raleigh during a celebration of 'multiculturalism.'

(LifeSiteNews) — It has come to light that the bishop of Raleigh, North Carolina presided over a shamanistic “smudging” ceremony to celebrate St. Catherine “Kateri” Tekakwitha, who rejected her native Mohawk religion.
Pascua Taqui tribe member Richard Duran led the congregation of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Durham in a “smudging” ceremony in July, according to an archived page of North Carolina Catholics, a diocesan publication. Smudging is a shamanic ritual that involves burning herbs and resins to “cleanse” a space of negative energy and “brin(g) in good spirits,” according to a Native American site. Since the pope has already allowed these sacrilegious acts, is it no wonder that more prelates are doing the same?
