Cardinal: It is Time to “Exit” the Abuse Hype
It is time to “exit” the abuse scandals in order to lift the “cloud” hanging over the Church according to Cardinal Peter Turkson, 71, the prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
Turkson gave an October 3 keynote address at the autumn conference of the Association of Leaders of Missionaries and Religious of Ireland (AMRI) in Dublin.
He noticed that during the 2012 International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin, Dublin Archbishop Diarmuid Martin offered an apology for clerical abuse during basically every event he attended.
“At one point, I thought it was too much. I thought he was making this huge cloud hang over everything,” Turkson observed.
He concluded, “Now we need to find a way of exiting this experience, [because] otherwise it will suffocate us.”

Was Cardinal McCarrick Even A Soviet Spy?
The former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, 88, was allegedly trained by the Soviet secret service while studying for a year in Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, in the early 1950s, reports ChurchMilitant.com (February 21).
The small town of Sankt Gallen is known for a world famous university, specialisted in the fields of business administration and economics.
ChurchMilitant.com refers to anonymous "former Communist personnel" which, at the time, were in charge of setting up secret networks in Europe.
However, by now, such personnel would - if still alive - be over 90 years old. It is unlikely that ChurchMilitant.com has access to such people.

Vatican media expert Fr. Rosica admits to plagiarism, blames interns
February 22, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Father Thomas Rosica, CEO of Salt + Light Media, has admitted to serial plagiarism over many years.

US bishops to consider new hymn translations for Liturgy of the Hours
The hymns will be in 'contemporary English' and 'represent a significant change'
The US bishops are set to consider 139 English translations of Latin hymn texts that can be used in praying the Liturgy of the Hours when they meet from November 12 to 14 in Baltimore for their general assembly.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops “approved a scope of work for a new translation of the breviary in November 2012,” Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Atlanta, chairman of the USCCB Committee on Divine Worship, wrote in September to the USCCB’s Administrative Committee, which approves placement of items on the agenda.
“That plan (in 2012) directed ICEL (the International Commission on English in the Liturgy) to prepare English translations of the 291 Latin hymns of the typical edition, some of which have never been put into contemporary English,” Archbishop Gregory said. Liberal Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl will "discuss" with Pope Francis the acceptance of his retirement he presented in November 2015 when he turned 75 according to a September 11 letter to his priests. Francis refused Wuerl’s original offer because he forces only Catholic leaning cardinals into a quick retirement.
Wuerl is under fire because he allegedly "mishandled" homosexual abuse cases.

Burke: Francis Must Respond To Dubia Questions
“The Dubia must have a response,” Cardinal Raymond Burke said in Rome at a press conference in remembrance of the first anniversary of Cardinal Caffarra's death, one of the four Dubia cardinals (September 6).

Francis Hides Behind "Silence, Prayer"
Pope Francis commented in his September 3 homily on Luke 4 which speaks about Jesus in the synagogue of Nazareth.
He used the homily to implicitly defend himself against the explosive statement of whistle-blower Archbishop Carlo Viganò who witnessed how Francis himself provided the homosexual abuser Cardinal McCarrick with a cover.
In his homily, Francis claimed that Jesus, facing opposition, stayed silent: “With people lacking goodwill, with people who only seek scandal, who seek only division, who seek only destruction, even within the family: silence, prayer.”
He even spoke about "wild dogs" - in Italian: "cani selvaggi" - who seek war and not peace.
Francis needs to be reminded that the Viganò statement is not about villainising its author but about hard facts involving Francis and his pro-gay friends in hushing up the homosexual abuses of Cardinal McCarrick.

A dossier on Cardinal Kevin Farrell is provided to the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, writes Francesca Fagnani in IlFattoQuotidiano.it (September 4).

Cardinal Makes False Distinctions to Justify Mortal Sin
Perugia Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti, the president of the Italian bishops and an uncritical follower of Pope Francis, used a talk about Amoris Laetitia at the pro-gay World Meeting of Families (August 24) to promote mortal sin.
Bassetti came up with the idea to distinguish between "good mortal sin" which he called "irregularity", and "bad mortal sin" saying that "not every irregularity is a mortal sin”.
According to CruxNow.com, Bassetti went on claiming that what he called "irregularity" did apparently "not exist in the past” as if fornication was something new.
Bassetti denied that “every disorderly act” against chastity is a mortal sin using the argument that “if we consider everything to be a mortal sin, then we exclude any form of integration.”
The question arises what kind of "integration" besides confession Bassetti has in mind.

McCarrick Renounces His Cardinalate – Punished To Seclusion, Prayer, Penance
Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Washington Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, 88, from the College of Cardinals due to allegations of homosexual abuse.
At the same time, Francis suspended him as a bishop and directed him to a live in seclusion, prayer and penance “until the completion of the canonical process” which has not yet begun.
McCarrick submitted his letter of resignation Friday evening.

An amateur video published by VaticanNews.va (July 17) shows Pope Francis walking along in the Vatican toward Casa Sancta Marta where he is living.
Francis was returning from a wedding ceremony which he performed for a Swiss guard and his Brazilian wife in St Stephen of the Abyssinians in Vatican City.
He is walking alone and nobody seems to take notice of him.

Francis Accepts Resignation of Suspected Gay Bishop
Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Auxiliary Bishop Juan Pineda Fasquelle, 57, of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on July 20.
Pineda is at center of allegations of homosexual abuse and financial misconduct in his archdiocese.
He is a protégé of his personal friend, Cardinal Oscar Rodríguez Maradiaga, who is member of the Council of Cardinals and a protégé of Pope Francis.
The fact that Pineda's resignation was made public on a Friday in the midst of summer holidays, is an attempt of the Vatican to hide the scandal.

Mass Attendance in South Korea in Dramatic Decline
According to figures released by the Bishops’ Conference of Korea (April 13), attendance at Masses is badly declining.
Only a few years ago, Korea was considered a hotbed of Catholicism with a dramatic growth. But last year, 19.4 percent fewer people showed up regularly at Mass compared to 2016.
In December 2017, the Korean Catholic Church had 5.8 million Catholics, 11% of the population. The president of South Korea Timothy Moon Jae-in, 65, is a Catholic.
Among the Catholics, 18.4% (2008: 12.6%) are aged 65 or older while only 6.6% are aged 10 to 19 years.
