Chapter XXI ~ Diversity of the Pains — Blasio Raised from the Dead by St. Bernardine — Venerable Prances of Pampeluna and the Pen of Pire — St. Corpreus and King Malachy. The celebrated Blasio Massei, who was raised from the dead by St. Bernardine of Sienna, saw that there was great diversity in the pains of Purgatory. The account of this miracle is given at length in the Acta Sanctorum (Appendix, May 20). A short time after the canonisation of St. Bernardine of Sienna, there died at Cascia, in the kingdom of Naples, a child aged eleven years, named Blasio Massei. His parents had inspired him with the same devotion which they them- selves had towards this new saint, and the latter was not slow to recompense it. The day after his death, when the body was being carried to the grave, Blasio awoke as from a profound slumber, and said that St. Bemardine had restored him to life, in order to relate the wonders which the saint had shown him in the other world. We can easily understand the …More
"In Hell, Blasio saw indescribable horrors, and the divers tortures by which the proud, the avaricious, the impure, and other sinners are tormented. Amongst them he recognised several whom he had seen during life, and he even witnessed the arrival of two who had just died, Buccerelli and Frascha. The latter was damned for having kept ill-gotten goods in his possession. The son of Frascha, struck by this revelation as by a thunderbolt, and knowing well the truth of the statement, hastened to make complete restitution ; and not content with this act of justice, that he might not expose himself to share one day the sad lot of his father, he distributed the rest of his fortune to the poor and embraced the monastic life."

– Folha de S. Paulo, December 10, 1984 – by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira DIVERSE circumstances have thus far prevented me from writing about the Instruction on Certain Aspects of the “Theology of Liberation,” by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. I am therefore taking advantage of the first opportunity to do so. Thus, it is with great pleasure that I fulfill a special duty that falls to me as a result of something that must be remembered here. Ten years ago, in 1974, the TFPs then in existence published a declaration on the Vatican’s “Ostpolitik” and Paul VI ‘s policy toward communism, so different from that of his predecessor Pius XII. This declaration carefully analyzed the subject and was significantly titled “The Vatican Policy of Détente Toward the Communist Governments — The Question for the TFP: To Take No Stand? Or to Resist?” It filled three quarters of a page in the Folha de S. Paulo (4/10/74). Its tone was respectful yet …More
This is what a 34 week old baby looks like outside the womb. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey just legalized killing an unborn child at this age. For no reason.
Thank you for posting this. God demands that we use our wisdom and strength to outlaw the horror of abortion. We will all have to answer to God for our efforts to stop abortion, which is the least of these... Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James1:27.
When legally an innocent baby in the womb can be murdered up until birth, and sometimes even after birth, any other evil act is possible. God asks us to choose life, not death.
This past Sunday as I was praying silently the Canon with the priest, the words of the Communicantes hit me. First and foremost, we are to be Communion with the Blessed Virgin and all for the martyr saints mentioned in that prayer. So the unity starts with unity in the faith held by those Saints, not with anyone who contradicts the true faith. Therefore the "una cum" referenced in the Te Igitur can only refer to those who hold the same faith as those saints. Ask yourself, do those who currently run the Church hold the same faith as the saints mentioned in the Canon?
Cardinal Matteo Zuppi of Bologna and president of the Italian Bishops’ Conference attended the private funeral of Italian singer-songwriter Francesco Guccini in Pavana on Saturday. He delivered an address, published on Avvenire.it (August 8), in which he practically canonized the self-described agnostic. Guccini, 86, had described himself as an “agnostic possibilist.” Zuppi, who was his friend, recalled that the singer had once told him he wanted the cardinal present at his funeral. Addressing Guccini directly, Cardinal Zuppi imagined what the deceased might now be seeing: “We do not know precisely … what you see: the fullness of that light which, in reality, you had already sensed from here and which you were able to glimpse in the poignant and infinite beauty of life.” Cardinal Zuppi portrayed Guccini’s agnostic doubt positively, as an honest search for truth. “Doubt was your way of standing before things without cheating, with integrity,” he said. “You never stopped asking and listening.” …More

♰ A Shower of Rose Petals for Saint Philomena ♰ Saint Philomena, Powerful with God, pray for us August 2026 Procession in Honor of Saint Philomena in Mugnano del Cardinale, Italy Mugnano del Cardinale houses the Sanctuary which has been the home of the Sacred Body of Saint Philomena since 1805. Saint Philomena is carried from the side of the Sanctuary and up the historic original main street of Mugnano — the very route along which Saint Philomena first entered this little town more than two centuries ago. Each year, a family whose home stands along this historic route waits for the moment when Saint Philomena passes beneath their windows. As their own expression of love and devotion, they shower her statue with a magnificent cascade of rose petals. Video Universal Archconfraternity of Saint Philomena
– Folha de S. Paulo, November 13, 1984 – by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira Having always avoided partisan battles, I had planned to stay silent on the shifting dynamics of the succession debates. This was especially true since, until recently, the ideological differences between the two candidates were vague — almost intangible—and therefore did not warrant serious commentary. Aside from a doctrinal perspective, any interference on my part in this great “brouhaha” would be pointless. I don’t have a structured constituency to lend political weight to my statement, and my role in the Brazilian public sphere is purely ideological or doctrinal. It so happens, however, that in recent weeks, the landscape of political controversy has experienced notable shifts. For quite some time, Mr. Tancredo Neves’s public stance leaned left, with only occasional right-wing statements meant to reassure conservative voters in his home region. Mr. Paulo Maluf, on the other hand, maintained a subtly right-leaning …More
[Saint Catherine of Genoa – XV-XVI Century AD; born: Genoa, Republic of Genoa/ died: Genoa, Republic of Genoa; Aged 62-63; mystic, known for her work among the sick and the poor] ST. FRANCIS DE SALES ON PURGATORY. The opinion of St. Francis de Sales was that from the thought of Purgatory we should draw more consolation than pain. The greater number of those, he said, who fear Purgatory so much, do so in consideration of their own interests and of the love they bear themselves rather than the interests of God ; and this happens because those who treat of this place from the pulpit usually speak of its pains and are silent in regard to the happiness and peace which are found in it When any of his friends or acquaintances died, he never grew weary of speaking fondly of them and recommending them to the prayers of others. His usual expression was : " We do not sufficiently remember our dead, our faithful departed and the proof of it is that we do not speak enough of them. We turn away from …More
"His usual expression was : " We do not sufficiently remember our dead, our faithful departed and the proof of it is that we do not speak enough of them. We turn away from that discourse as from a sad subject. We leave the dead to bury their dead. Their memory perishes from us with the sound of their funeral-bell. We forget that the friendship which ends even with death, is never true. Holy Scripture assuring us that true love is stronger than death."

Someone silence this fake. One hand he talks down on vaccines. The next he is helping the ceo of phizer and the mad dr. oz and trump who also put it together to make more of their vaccines. They are all forked tongue beasts. Dr. Oz was on oprah. What a creepy guy he is. And he tried to talk people into taking a vaccine that was poisonous. Even getting angry with those who refused them. Used the old guilt trip etc. And now they are all planning together.
Reminds me of the Irish Garda recruitment drive at the local immigration centre. As soon as guests of the nation spotted the uniforms they attacked them. They obviously were expecting to be arrested for some strange reason. There was quite an amount of thunderbird eye shifting at the end of it.
Popes certainly have more important things to do than pay for their hotel room out of their own wallet, as Francis did at the beginning of his pontificate. Do they even have enough time for that?

The Peruvian naturalization file of Robert Prevost preserves a handwritten letter in which he expressed his desire to remain in Peru “for the rest of my life.” The documentation, held by Peru’s National Superintendency of Migration, records the process through which the American-born Prevost obtained Peruvian citizenship in 2015 after years of pastoral work in the country. According to TVPerú Noticias, Prevost submitted his application in 2015 and addressed a handwritten letter to then-President Ollanta Humala explaining his ties to Peru and formally requesting nationality. As part of the naturalization process, Prevost also underwent an examination on Peruvian history, geography and culture. Héctor Pérez, head of Migraciones’ General Archive, said the future pope achieved an exceptionally high result. The essential details of Prevost’s naturalization are confirmed by official Peruvian records. Supreme Resolution No. 157-2015-IN, dated August 17, 2015, states that Prevost applied for …More
