Leo’s words hark back to specific elements of the teaching of Augustine, particularly in his monumental work, “The City of God.”
In that book, Augustine argued the church should remain on good terms with secular authorities but must speak out when biblical values were under threat, for example when the rights of the most vulnerable were trampled on.
On Tuesday, the pope visited the ruins of Hippo, where Augustine, one of Christianity’s most important theologians, was bishop starting in around 395 A.D. He also met with Augustinian friars and nuns and visited the Catholic basilica that overlooks the ruins in the modern city of Annaba.
His visit with nuns in Algiers on Monday was poignant. Two Spanish members of the order were shot dead in the city in 1994. The nuns had elected to stay in Algeria, though it meant risking their lives amid a civil war and threats against foreigners. They were part of a group of 19 Catholics killed during the civil war whom Pope Francis beatified as martyrs …More

Bishop Barron Caught by His Digital Past?

Pro-homosexual author ChrisDamian.Substack.com (April 14) accuses the “conservative” Bishop Robert Barron of having followed provocative male accounts on his private Facebook account.
In December 2025, Chris Damian published that Bishop Barron’s personal account was following several such pages, including one for 'Brazilian male feet'.
This prompted a response from Bishop Barron's organisation, Word on Fire. They claimed that the account had recently been hacked and was being used for 'digital fraud'. However, despite Facebook providing a history of account logins, including suspicious access, Word on Fire did not provide any evidence to support this claim.
Yesterday, shortly after Bishop Barron demanded an apology from Donald Trump for attacking Pope Leo XIV, Damian published more information.
He posted screenshots showing that Bishop Barron had followed similar provocative accounts as far back as January 2024, casting doubt on the claims of Word on Fire.
These accounts included '…More

Father John Lydon on Pope Leo: in Peru, we lived together during a time of terrorism and an authoritarian government, and violations of human rights. And he was in the main plaza of our city gathering signatures in defense of human rights, in the plaza surrounded by government buildings. So this is not somebody who just woke up and decided, well, now is the time to speak about human rights. This is part of his identity… He's going to continue to speak up based on the moral principles of the church, because that's what he was elected to do. That's what all the popes are supposed to do

Cardinal Müller: “Israel’s Right to Exist Must Never Be Called into Question”

As a political, economic, technological, and military superpower, the United States bears a distinctive responsibility to contain dangerous regimes and dictatorships that pose a grave threat to the world. This position was articulated by Cardinal Gerhard Müller on Kath.net on 14 April.
He continues: “In light of present circumstances, the brutal crimes committed against one’s own people and against other nations must be confronted - not only through economic sanctions, but, where necessary, by military means.”
Cardinal Müller even draws a parallel with the Nazis: “The policy of appeasement toward Adolf Hitler proved catastrophic and exacted a devastating toll in World War II.”
Turning to Iran, Müller states: “The Iranian regime must be unequivocally denounced worldwide as a perversion of religion - religion which is ordered toward the worship of God and must never, in any form, be exploited to justify killing of innocent people.”
He envisions a just peace as one in which “the …More

Forensic Analysis of the 38 Subject Deaths in the 6-Month Interim Report of the Pfizer/BioNTech BNT162b2 mRNA Vaccine Clinical Trial

This version is not peer-reviewed.
A peer-reviewed version of this preprint was published in:
International Journal of Vaccine Theory, Practice, and Research 2023, 3(1), 973-1008.

Abstract
The analysis reported here is unique in that it is the first study of the original data from the Pfizer/BioNTech BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine clinical trial (CA4591001) to be carried out by a group unaffiliated with the trial sponsor. Our study is a forensic analysis of the 38 trial subjects who died between July 27, 2020, the start of Phase 2/3 of the clinical trial, and March 13, 2021, the data end date of their 6-Month Interim Report. Phase 2/3 of the trial involved 44,060 subjects who were equally distributed into two groups and received Dose 1 of either the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccinated or the Placebo control (0.9% normal saline). At Week 20, when the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine received Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. FDA, subjects in the placebo …

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 3,16-21.
God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed.
But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

I need a break from another Blasphemy of trump and his administration

So I decided to post something which will be telling about the people of Iran.
Never-before-seen footage shows Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei visiting and meeting with the families of Christian martyrs, released for the first time on Christmas.
Imagine a country where everyone got along. NO ONE FORCED their evil ideologies on one another as trump is trying o do in Iran to accept gays. People who love and care for each other. People who respect each other. People who actually get along with one another. No matter the faith. That's how GOD Will's it. NO FORCING! But with pure love for one another.

A middle child – the seventh of thirteen children, and raised as a pious child. Soldier at age 18, and fought in the war against the Huguenots. Joined the navy to fight in the siege of La Rochelle, but illness kept him from the fight. He lived for three years in Paris, France, devoted to poetry and painting and to wild and frivolous living. Back in his home town of Cavaillon, he took over the position of his late brother as canon of Salon, a position he wanted for its income and connections instead of its spiritual significance. One night while on his way to a masked ball, he passed a shrine where a small light was burning before an image of the Virgin Mary. He was suddenly overwhelmed by the memory that a friend, Antoinette Reveillade, had prayed fervently for his salvation. He realized that there was no way he could live a life offending God and then expect to …More

ADPaul Blessed César de Bus, born 3 February 1544, at Cavaillon, in France; He died on 15 April 1607. He was a French Catholic priest who founded two religious congregations. It is usual that many people find it difficult to decide what to do with their lives. The story of Blessed Cesar de Bus also was the same. After finishing his Jesuit education he had difficulty settling between a military and a literary career. He wrote some plays but ultimately settled for life in the army and at court.

On 13 February, the Instagram account RetiroDaGospa published a video showing Fr. Oscar Pilloni crowdsurfing while wearing liturgical vestments. The scene took place during a youth "retreat" in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Rev Pilloni is the founder of the Gospa Mira community. According to the website Tradition In Action, he follows a 'Pentecostal-conservative' spirituality, which includes energetic dancing as well as devotions associated with Fatima, including the rosary.

Tom Morelli

Sometimes, people don’t just argue with you—they deliberately provoke you to get rid of you. And if you fall for it, if you take the bait, you don’t just lose the argument; you lose a piece of yourself.
There are certain "conversations" that aren't actually conversations at all... they are traps. The moment you step into them, you surrender your peace, your energy, and even your dignity.
Think back to the ancient wisdom often attributed to Socrates: "If a donkey kicks me, should I take it to court?"
Behind this simple question lies a massive truth: not every provocation is worth a single word in response. There are people who breathe through drama and scandal. They shout, they insult, they weave elaborate lies—all fueled by envy, their own inner pain, or a deep-seated dissatisfaction with their lives. They lash out at others like wounded animals: without reason, without boundaries, and without self-awareness.
But you... you have absolutely no obligation to meet them at that level.

FSSP versus FSSPX: Schism and Legalism Accusations

The French districts of the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter (Clavis.org, April 11) and the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (LaPorteLatine.org, April 13) have publicly clashed over planned episcopal consecrations on July 1.
FSSP Position
The FSSP argues that the consecrations would be illegitimate because the episcopate, by its nature, requires communion with the Pope and the body of bishops. Consecrating bishops without papal mandate therefore contradicts the Church’s divine constitution, not merely its discipline.
It responds to an argument made by the FSSPX (in a technical annex), which refers to Lumen gentium in arguing that episcopal consecration does not itself confer governing authority, and therefore such consecrations would not necessarily break Church unity.
The FSSP rejects this interpretation, arguing that - even if jurisdiction is not automatically given - episcopal functions can only be exercised within hierarchical communion. Acting without papal mandate leads in …More

22 Years Ago: Fr Prevost’s Journey to Algeria Amid Terror Threats

Leo XIV's current visit to Algeria is (also) personal. In 2004, Father Prevost participated in a pilgrimage to mark the 1650th anniversary of Saint Augustine’s birth, reports IlGiornale.it on 13 April.
Due to security concerns, the group had been heavily escorted by police and had been restricted to a brief visit to Annaba (ancient Hippo). No broader travel inside Algeria was considered safe at the time.
They were strongly advised not to spend the night in Algeria, which is why they returned to Tunisia the same day.
Fr Prevost was dressed entirely in civilian clothes, as usual.
Returning now as Pope, he revisits those same places.
