Why Did the Institute of Christ the King (ICRSP) Not Take Over the Church Notre-Dame-du-Lys?

The Archdiocese of Paris had planned to withdraw from the chapel Notre-Dame-du-Lys by June because of the cost of repairing the aging buildings - €1 million in the short term and about €3 million over the longer term.
The proposal would have abolished both, the Novus Ordo and the Latin Mass that are celebrated in the Church. The Sunday Latin Mass drew around 150–250 faithful, while the Wednesday Latin Mass was dedicated to young people.
Following strong opposition from parishioners and supporters of the chapel, the plan was revised.
Instead, a religious community will assume responsibility for the chapel and its youth patronage beginning in September. This change has since been confirmed on the chapel's official website, although the announcement refers only to "a Community" composed of a priest and a seminarian, without identifying the institute.
According to PaixLiturgique.org, Paris Archdiocese considered entrusting the chapel to the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (…More

30. The bond between seeing and hearing in faith-knowledge is most clearly evident in John’s Gospel. For the Fourth Gospel, to believe is both to hear and to see. Faith’s hearing emerges as a form of knowing proper to love: it is a personal hearing, one which recognizes the voice of the Good Shepherd (cf. Jn 10:3-5); it is a hearing which calls for discipleship, as was the case with the first disciples: "Hearing him say these things, they followed Jesus" (Jn 1:37). But faith is also tied to sight. Seeing the signs which Jesus worked leads at times to faith, as in the case of the Jews who, following the raising of Lazarus, "having seen what he did, believed in him" (Jn 11:45). At other times, faith itself leads to deeper vision: "If you believe, you will see the glory of God" (Jn 11:40). In the end, belief and sight intersect: "Whoever believes in me believes in him who sent me. And whoever sees me sees him who sent me" (Jn 12:44-45). Joined to hearing, seeing then …More

Humpback Whale Crucified among Priests, Altar Servers and an Altar: The blasphemous play Timmy: Hope Dies Last, which premiered on 11 July at the Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg, Germany, portrays the stranded humpback whale Timmy as a Christ-like figure. Directed by Alexander Klessinger, the production features a 'Mass for Timmy', a crucifixion. The production was inspired by Timmy, whose stranding in the Baltic Sea this spring prompted a nationwide rescue effort. The whale was found dead off the coast of Denmark approximately two weeks after being freed. The operation reportedly cost around €2 million.

Hundreds of Thousands of Catholics Purportedly Excommunicated: How Should We See This?

Although rumors had been circulating that Rome was preparing to excommunicate not only the consecrating bishops and the four new bishops of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX), but also the priests and laity attached to the Society, most observers were skeptical that the authorities would go so far. The issuance of a decree of excommunication by Cardinal Fernandez of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of Faith and the accompanying Explanatory Note came as a shock to many on Thursday, July 2, 2026, and the Procedures for the Reconciliation of priests and laity issued later that day proved even more astonishing. These measures were seen widely as incredibly harsh and sweeping and decried by authors both within and outside SSPX circles.[i] Canonists immediately began to point out problems with the juridical validity of the condemnations.[ii] Don Davide Pagliarani, the SSPX Superior General, wrote a beautiful, filial, but obviously pained letter to the Holy Father, assuring him that we do not …

Football Fan Mass in Argentina. Worse than Germany: On 16 July, football fan signs, including altar decorations, flags, hats and shirts, were incorporated into a Mass at the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria parish in Córdoba's Villa Argentina neighbourhood. The service was led by Rev. Luis Luján. He explained that the idea was to stay close to people and use the excitement around the national team to communicate Gospel values.

I wonder if we're taking this World Cup business too far. Father "Lucho", Our Lady of Candelaria Parish, Villa Argentina neighborhood, Córdoba.

Smoke of Satan vs Traditional faith chose today whom you will serve

Father Karl A Claver

Christ said, My house is a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves. Ecclesiastics says there is a time and a place for everything, but a church is not a place of revelry.

Archbishop Wrote That Leo XIV Shares Pro-Homosexual Agenda: The pro-homosexual final report of the Synod's Study Group Number 9 should not surprise anybody, because certain bishops are encouraging the homosex community, Cardinal Burke told Edward Pentin in a recent video interview. These bishops claim that the Church is changing and that the homosexuals should continue in their sinful ways. Cardinal Burke mentioned the letter from an Archbishop who claimed that "Leo XIV shared this view, because he doesn’t talk about sexual morality." For Cardinal Burke it is completely irresponsible to write something like that.

Vatican media publishes article dismissing the realities of original sin and the devil

It is not found in Genesis—at the root of a misunderstanding The serpent, the woman and the fruit. And Satan? When reading the opening pages of the Bible, a question inevitably arises: how does the Garden of Eden—where God placed the human being "to cultivate and care for it" (Genesis 2:15)—transform from a place of delight into an abyss of despair (Genesis 3:24)? Article by Marinella Perroni, a theologian The story’s protagonists are well known to all: a serpent—the animal desert nomads considered the most insidious; a woman—whom God created because it was not good for man to be alone; and a fruit—not an apple, but the fruit of a garden where every tree was "pleasing to the eye and good for food" (Genesis 2:9). The message is clear: treachery inhabits the garden of life just as much as wonder and abundance; for this very reason, Eden serves as a primal metaphor for life—for its beauty, yet also for its tragic contradictions. Thus, in just a few strokes, one of antiquity’s most poignant …

Leo XIV May Replace Cardinal Parolin as Secretary of State: The Substack.com account The Pillar speculates that Leo XIV could replace Cardinal Pietro Parolin, 71, as Secretary of State as early as this summer. Citing anonymous Vatican sources, it says Leo XIV has concerns about Parolin's effectiveness in coordinating Vatican departments. The article identifies Archbishop Paul Gallagher, 72, and Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, 66, as the leading candidates.

At the largest and most influential of these, the Secretariat of State, Pope Leo XIV could replace Cardinal Pietro Parolin as Secretary of State as early as this summer, according to several diplomatic and Vatican sources who spoke to The Pillar...
...The question of who might succeed Gambetti at Saint Peter’s is more complicated. Vatican sources told The Pillar that Parolin himself might be appointed to the position. However, other senior sources told The Pillar that the pope intended to move Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas, current archpriest of the Basilica of Saint Mary Major to the position, while other rumors point to the appointment of Archbishop Diego Ravelli, Master of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations...

Who could be Leo’s pick for Secretary of State, whenever it comes?

One of the remaining great unknowns of the Leonine pontificate is when the pope could choose to replace the heads of Vatican departments remaining from the Francis papacy. Pope Leo XIV and Caridnal Pietro Parolin. Credit: Vatican media. At the largest and most influential of these, the Secretariat of State, Pope Leo XIV could replace Cardinal Pietro Parolin as Secretary of State as early as this summer, according to several diplomatic and Vatican sources who spoke to The Pillar. The move, if it happens, would replace the Vatican’s second-highest official and the pope’s closest institutional advisor. According to several of these sources, Pope Leo has privately expressed some reservations about Parolin’s effectiveness as the epicenter of curial organization, a dynamic that may have led the pope to start considering replacing him. While no one knows except the pope when he might choose to replace the 71-year-old Parolin, speculation has already begun about his potential successors. The …
