A mosque dispute is escalating in Mestre, on the Venetian mainland. A Muslim association linked to the local Bangladeshi community bought a former sawmill for €1.5 million to build an Islamic centre. However, the site would require a municipal change of use. Venice Mayor Simone Venturini says the conditions for approval are not currently met, citing planning and integration concerns. Association president Prince Howlader threatened a strike in late August. He claimed Bangladeshi workers could disrupt tourism, hotels and restaurants. However, workers and unions showed limited support, and the protest was put on hold for talks.
Loro con la violenza pttengono tutto. Noi civilissimi italiani con la nostre leggi siamo perdenti. Come cavarcela se i giudici danno sempre ragione a loro??
Bishop Laurent Le Boulc’h announced in late August that the Diocese of Lille will shrink from 106 parishes to just 30, and from 14 deaneries to 5. Consultations run through 2026, with new boundaries due in 2027 and implementation in summer 2028. The sweeping restructuring is presented as part of the diocese’s “missionary renewal.”

The carnival musician who almost married but then became a monk is now heading Heiligenkreuz. The 84 voting monks of the "conservative" Cistercian abbey of Heiligenkreuz near Vienna elected Fr Simeon Wester, 61, as their new superior today. He will lead the community for the next three years without becoming abbot. Born Karl Wester in Unkel on the Rhine, Germany, he grew up as one of five children. Music came early: piano, organ and trombone, followed by formal studies in choral conducting, singing and church music. As a young man, he was involved in the Rhineland carnival scene. Years later, when the musician decided to become a monk, the Cologne tabloid Express put the story on its front page: “Our carnival fool is going to the monastery.” Wester had felt drawn to monastic life since his teens but initially chose music. Around the age of 35, close to marrying his long-term girlfriend, he finally made the leap. He entered Heiligenkreuz in 2001. Music followed him behind the monastery …Magis

Leo XIV promotes bishop who opposed Communion-ban for Biden. And: “I believe in Martin Luther King”. Leo XIV appointed Bishop Brendan John Cahill, 62, as the new bishop of Joliet, Illinois, on September 17. He has been bishop of the Diocese of Victoria, Texas, since 2015. In May 2021, Cahill joined 67 other U.S. bishops in urging USCCB president Archbishop José Gomez to halt discussion on “Eucharistic worthiness.” This was about denying abortion politicians such as President Joe Biden Holy Communion. The letter's effort failed outwardly as the bishops proceeded with the debate. But the national confrontation over Communion for pro-abortion politicians never materialized. Bishops on the other side of the dispute, including Archbishops Samuel Aquila and Salvatore Cordileone, publicly criticized the letter. In November 2025, Bishop Cahill told NcReporter that he is “convicted of nonviolence”: “I believe in Martin Luther King.” Similarities with Protestants Discussing ecumenism in 2023, …Magis

The FBI surveilled Martin Luther King Jr. for years and secretly recorded him, including through hotel-room bugs and wiretaps. FBI documents claimed that the surveillance captured extramarital affairs and sexual gatherings.

Jane Allen was suffering from anorexia. She traveled to Colorado seeking treatment. Instead, her doctor offered assisted suicide — a prescription for death. Her father intervened just in time. Jane began to heal — eating again, tapering off morphine. The anorexia clinic dropped her, calling her a “liability.” When Jane chose life, her doctors walked away. Assisted suicide isn’t healthcare. It’s preying on the sick and vulnerable.
Yes, communism which NON Russians brought to the people and killed tens of millions of CATHOLICS AND ORTHODOX. Some people ought to take out all the hate from their hearts and their lying and get rid of the ignorance they speak. What was Sister Lucia concerned about? communism. What does the Church teach? communism is a sin and evil. Who did the Saintly Popes reach out to? The Russian Orthodox. Who did the Russian Orthodox reach out to? Saintly Popes. Who did most of those Saintly Popes and more condemned fiercely? protestantism. The slaughterer of souls. And also the mind. YES! The errors of Russia! But NOT of the Russian People! As the Church has said, taught and shown for centuries.

The Medical Profession should accept some responsibility in the deaths of Mrs. Clancy's three children; ~ A lethal cocktail of 15 different medications! ~~~ Every day our so-called rational doctor's, (those who commit murder of the unborn children and leaving others to die without medical aid, couching their actions with pseudo terminology such as 'abortion', carried out of compassion of the procedure.) The Mother's physical and mental well-being is simply a medical necessary, (for the well-being of an individual mother.) ~ Yet the horror of their actions barely raise any concern from the wider community. ~ Murder is Murder! ~~~ From where I sit, with limited knowledge of Mrs. Clancy's past history or mental state, she would be a high risk of suicide. She would be better placed in a psychiatric facility, where hopefully she would receive appropriate treatment. ~ For the rest of her life, this mother will have to live with the self knowledge of her actions!
I'm curious. Regardless of outcome, Lindsay Clancy will be locked away. And she will have to live with the brutal and heart searing fact that she ruined her own life and that of her family who, by all accounts, she loved and cared for very much. Moreover she killed her children, not for a lover, or financial gain, or freedom to live a single life, but because she was on a lethal cocktail of medication on top of exhaustion and chronic depression. Why then, is this "lone holdout" a legend?

Leo XIV-appointed Bishop Beat Grögli of St Gallen, Switzerland, knows about the transvestite show organised by the city chaplaincy. Ann-Katrin Gässlein, the chaplaincy’s pastoral worker for Culture and Education, told CatholicHerald.co.uk that the bishop “has been informed about the event in the spirit of transparent communication”. Tomorrow’s transvestite event has been in preparation for “several months.” It was “deliberately conceived as the kickoff for the ‘Deep Drag’ format.” Gässlein claimed that “the art form of drag serves as a medium and a catalyst for conversation, not as a matter of faith.”
The man lives in the make believe world of Humpty Dumpty where words mean whatever you want them to mean. We wonder if he would accept a large pay decrease because money too isn’t real.
Demon in the Dome. On Mai 27 the rector of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna blessed a controversial bust of Sr Restituta Kafka who was murdered by the Nazis during Second World War and declared blessed by Pope John Paul II. The bust was produced by the Austrian artist Alfred Hrdlicka. He is an atheist and describes himself as a "Stalinist". Hrdlicka was personally commissioned by Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn of Vienna to produce the sculpture.
