The Argentine Bishops' Conference issued a tribute to the abortion activist Taty Almeida, 95, following her death on June 14. In a June 15 statement signed by Archbishop Marcelo Colombo, president of the conference, and Bishop Raúl Pizarro, secretary general, the bishops sarcastically praised Almeida's "historic commitment to human rights". They even “thanked God for sustaining her courage”. Almeida was one of Argentina's best-known “human-rights” activists. She was a longtime member of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo movement about people who disappeared during Argentina's military dictatorship. The bishops' statement ignored her support for abortion. Almeida publicly supported Argentina's abortion movement. She frequently appeared wearing the green scarf that became the symbol of the campaign for legal abortion and backed the effort that led to abortion legalization in 2020. Almeida was closely associated with sectors of the Argentine caviar left and often appeared alongside progressive …More
Many World Cup Fans Would Rather Skip the Hydration Breaks It’s hot in North America in June, but fans are griping that the breaks that have been added to each half are an excuse for the networks to show more ads. nytimes.com/2026/06/18/us/world-cup-hydration-bre… By Victor Mather June 18, 2026 The “hydration breaks” that have been added to World Cup matches have not been met with universal acclaim from players and fans, not least because some TV networks are using them to squeeze in extra ads. It’s hot in much of North America in June, and in some places very hot. So it would seem natural that players at the World Cup, currently underway in the United States, Mexico and Canada, get quick breaks to grab a drink in the middle of each half. But the pauses have not been broadly popular. Beside annoyance over the extra ads, fans are upset that the flow of the game is interrupted, and some believe that the team they are rooting for can somehow lose “momentum” as a result of the break. …More
06/18/2026 Entire blog as a free PDF eBook. Many expected that Iran would go the way of Iraq, Libya, and Syria upon the start of the Third Gulf War, which is why the outcome of this conflict can be described as the upset of the century. Iran didn’t destroy Israel like it’s long threatened to do, nor did it sink any US ships like its media surrogates hyped supporters up to expect, but both – and especially Israel – were left badly battered. This is how Andrzej Korybko – an American political analyst living in Moscow who specialises in the global transition to a multipolar system – begins his Tuesday article on korybko.substack.com: Here’s How Iran Pulled Off The Upset Of The Century. The five points outlined in this analysis provide an excellent summary of Iran’s astute military-political strategy. Yesterday, at the conclusion of the G7 summit in Evian, France, Trump told reporters: Our [oil] reserves will be depleted in about four weeks. I have described Iran’s strategy as “excellent …

This month, the #WeCount project by the Society of Family Planning released final abortion estimates for calendar year 2025. Unfortunately, the news is not particularly good for pro-lifers. The Society of Family Planning estimates that 1,126,760 abortions took place in calendar year 2025. This represents a 1.6 percent increase from 2024. Overall, the Society of Family Planning numbers are broadly consistent with the abortion estimates that have been released by the Guttmacher Institute. Unsurprisingly, the #WeCount figures show that telehealth abortions are playing a large role in this abortion increase. REACH PRO-LIFE PEOPLE WORLDWIDE! Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 6,19-23. Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be. The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light; but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be." angelyelina
End of an Era: Jesuits Withdraw from Murcia: The Society of Jesus has closed its last remaining community in Murcia, Spain, ending its resident presence in the Diocese of Cartagena. Jesuit Provincial Fr. Enric Puiggròs said the closure is part of a "restructuring" driven by a lack of vocations and the aging of the order's members. The Jesuits' presence in Murcia goes back to the 16th century, shortly after the founding of the Society of Jesus in 1540.
The last Jesuits of the Region bid farewell as they close their Santo Domingo community in Murcia due to 'the scarce vocations and our unavoidable aging'

Thaïs d’Escufon: In 2022, I was invited on French television to speak about the sexual assault and detention I had suffered from a Tunisian migrant. Meanwhile my attacher is still free, the justice system of my own country wants to sentence me to prison for saying that « the main danger to women in France comes from Black African and Arab immigrant men » like it is « hate speech ». They are the ones who should be put on trial for allowing an invasion that endangers native French people. Shame on them!
