Milan Archdiocese has announced plans for a new interreligious “Ambrosian Monastery.” The futuristic religious complex will be built in the MIND district on the former Expo grounds. Designed by architect Stefano Boeri, the project includes a triangular church and a triangular cloister. The large covered structure has been compared to a shopping mall or even a ski-jump platform. According to the Archdiocese, a permanent resident community is expected to live at the site, although no religious institute or monastic order has yet been identified. The complex will cover around 2,700 square meters, with more than 1,100 square meters dedicated to public and open-access areas. I've been a garlic grower for years, too. I had the most success growing it in a garden, but it hasn't made it through the winter when I've planted it in pots. Either something is eating it or it has gotten too cold. Fermenting garlic in honey and then storing the jars in the refrigerator has given me a way to make it last more than one growing season.

The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) has published an official website to organise its 2026 episcopal consecrations. Registration is required to get access to the ceremonies. Registration is possible for individual faithful, clergy, accredited journalists and groups. The ceremonies start with priestly ordinations on June 29, First Masses on June 30, the episcopal consecrations on July 1 and a Mass by a newly consecrated bishop on July 2. The Vatican’s decision to award the Grand Cross of the Order of Pius IX to Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari - Iran’s ambassador to the Holy See - has sparked controversy. Mokhtari has served as ambassador since 2023 and received the decoration on Tuesday together with twelve other diplomats. Iranian state-linked media portrayed the award as a personal recognition by Leo XIV and linked it to the Pope’s criticism of military escalation against Iran. The Vatican, however, stressed that the decoration was part of a routine diplomatic custom. Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said that the Order of Pius IX is traditionally granted to all ambassadors accredited to the Holy See after roughly two years of service.
